We've all been there — You're in a rush at the store and the person in front of you is trying to redeem too many coupons, or there's a problem with a coupon, etc. You get irritated, might even grumble something under your breath. But I'm guessing it's never come to fisticuffs. Unfortunately for shoppers and employees at a Super Kmart in Ohio, one customer couldn't manage to show such restraint.
According to reports, a Kmart shopper in Lorain, OH, was minding her own business as she redeemed a coupon at the cash register. For whatever reason, a woman behind this customer began to get irate, telling her to take the coupon to customer service and dropping some not-so-nice names on her.
When the woman with the coupon said she wouldn't be going to customer service, the other woman got all up in her grill, allegedly poking her in the cheek and threatening to slap her.
That's when the Jerry Springer bell went off and the irritated customer reportedly attacked the coupon lady.
After being pulled off her victim by another female customer, the assailant fled the store and was not apprehended.
As of yesterday, she had not been identified. Police are attempting to use store surveillance footage to help nab the suspect.

This is my review of the Kodak V1273 digital camera. This was the first digital camera that I had every purchased online without actually first trying the Kodak camera out. Kodak is a company that has been around for decades and has been a major player in the camera industry since the beginning. Does the Kodak V1273 digital camera hold up to the past reputation of Kodak? Or has the digital photo age passed Kodak by. Here is the good and the bad of the Kodak V1273 digital camera.
The Positive Aspects of the Kodak V1273 include…
The Kodak V1273 Digital Camera shoots very good video quality for a digital camera. The Kodak V1273 does shoot video in High Definition. The HD quality may not be as great as what you would find on an HD video camcorder, but the high definition video that the Kodak V1273 shoots is very nice. It is great to be able to take pictures and video with the same camera.
The V1273 is very user friendly. The menus are very easy to use and the camera offers a good number of different setting and options. My wife is not good at all with electronics and had no problem using all the features of this device.
The picture quality is very good on the Kodak V1273 as well. The Kodak does shoot at 12.1 mega pixels and the photo quality is good for a point-and-shoot digital camera.
The Kodak V1273 Digital Camera does have a very good panoramic photo feature. The camera allows you to take stunning panoramic pictures very easily. I have had friends that were very impressed with the ease and quality of picture from the Kodak V1273 digital camera.
The screen on the back of the Kodak V1273 camera is very large. It is great to be able to see your digital photos on your camera in great detail. The larger screen on the camera allows for that.
There are a few downsides to the V1273…
The Kodak V1273 does have a touch screen interface. I have had lots of problems with the touch screen interface on the camera. At first, I did not have a lot of problems with the touch screen. After a few months of owning the Kodak V1273, I started having a few problems with it. My main gripe is that it makes scrolling through the pictures a hard task.
The screen of the Kodak V1273 does offer another problem. If you are outside in the sunlight, it is almost impossible to see the screen on this camera. This can be very annoying when you are trying to take outside pictures. I really had problems with the camera trying to take photos on the beach. You can order a film to put over the screen that can help alleviate this problem.
Overall, I have been happy with the Kodak V1273 digital camera. While the Kodak V1273 has had some flaws, the positives outweigh the negatives. The photo quality is great for a point-and-shoot digital camera. The video quality is good as well. If I had to assign a grade to the Kodak V1273, I would give it a solid B.
You should also consider adding Mail America, based in Lynchburg, Virginia. A few years ago the ad agency I work for tried to pick up Mail America as a client, and the owner, during our initial meetings, stated outright he would not work with any company that employed Democrats. Mail America was founded in 1989 by former Washington Times executives Charles P. Keith, Roger M. Ott and Ronald Godwin. Mail America's current CEO is Dan Reber, a close friend of Jerry Falwell. Reber was also a co-founder of Direct Mail Communications in Forest, VA, and worked with Oliver North in building North's famous mailing lists. Mail America has done direct-mail work for Texas Gov. George W. Bush, the Republican National Committee, and the National Rifle Association. The company's estimated annual sales between $50 and $100 million.
On May 17, U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke spoke at the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong and expressed his concerns with the business environment in China, especially with China's “Indigenous Innovation Policy.” Secretary Locke felt that this policy “could provide domestic firms a leg up in bidding on government procurement projects.”
He further stated that “many U.S. businesses were surprised by this policy, which was made without any input from affected businesses and was not subject to any public comment.”
Understandably, as the Secretary of Commerce, he was trying to promote U.S. interests. But he may have overlooked the facts from a historical perspective, and he might have even ignored U.S. government procurement policies while trying to push China to roll back its policy.
First, the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Finance did issue a call for comments on Indigenous Innovation Product Accreditation on April 9, 2010 and the consultation period ended on May 10, 2010. Comments could be submitted by post, fax or email. In the notice, it covered the scope, the conditions, as well as application and accreditation. The application process for the accreditation started on May10th and will continue to September 10th.
Second, as far back as 1933, the Buy American Act was passed by the U.S. Congress and signed by President Roosevelt, and required the United States government to prefer U.S. made products in its purchases. And as recent as last year, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, commonly referred to as the Stimulus, also has a Buy American provision in it. Unlike the China's Indigenous Innovation Product Accreditation program, when it comes to the U.S. government procurement policy, it never consults any foreign company.
Third, maybe the reason many U.S. companies were against this new policy is because they have enjoyed preferential treatment in China for too long. Since the early 80's China has provided preferential treatment to foreign-invested enterprises (FIEs). Companies with at least 25% of foreign investment enjoy special tax holidays and incentives. Foreign financial institutions, like commercial banks and insurance companies, also enjoy these privileges. As a result of the FIE preferential treatments, many foreign companies including many U.S. companies often enjoyed a superior incentive treatment over local Chinese competitors in the last 25 years. While the FIE policy did attract many foreign investments in China, the government of China also faced pressures and complaints from its domestic companies. The Chinese domestic companies often view the FIE preferential treatments as unfair and discriminatory against China's own local businesses. So this Indigenous Innovation Product Accreditation is really meant to level the playing field and to encourage innovation and creativity. Without a robust innovation policy in place, many China companies will be limited to imitation and replication, and that is not good for China or for the United States.
Centuries ago, indigenous innovations from China benefited from and impacted the whole world, starting with the four great inventions – compass, gunpowder, paper making, and woodblock printing. The invention of the compass lead to a whole new way of determining position, destination, and direction at sea, with the greatest contribution enabling the trading and shipping by sea instead of by land. The invention of paper making enabled recording, transporting, and storing of information in an efficient way. The inventions of woodblock printing enabled the duplication of information, and thus shared knowledge, learning, and organizational memorial. As for the invention of the gunpowder, it will be hard to imagine celebrating July 4th without the fireworks. The benefits of China indigenous innovations didoes not end with just the four great inventions. Just look at the silks in the fashion industry, the tea we drink, the noodles we eat, and the list goes on.
China's Indigenous Innovation Product Accreditation will stimulate new innovation and invention, and it will also protect intellectual property rights and trademark. It is switching from an acquisition and development (A&D) mode to a research and development (R&D) mode. China's Indigenous Innovation Product Accreditation deserves to be encouraged and not stifled. The United States should show its trust and faith in China as its trading partner.
“While the United States and China will not always agree on everything, our economies and our environments are inextricably linked, and we have to strive to solve our problems through cooperation.” as Secretary Locke said in his remarks “Working together, China and the United States can lead a second industrial revolution, where cleaner and more efficient technologies power the world's factories, cars and homes in the 21st century.”
The U.S. companies have many ways to exercise its innovations. Now is the time to let China's companies have a chance to be creative and inventive; the result just might benefit the world in a whole new way.

So your thirteen-year-old daughter is terrified. She's about to get on the bus for her first day of middle school, as a “sevey”. She's dressed in bright colors, wearing glitter on her eyelids, and lip gloss that tastes like strawberries. All her friends are the same way; they were skirts and pink shirts, and all their nicknames end in “y” or “ie.” You're so happy to see how she's growing up, and so glad that she's friends with clean cut kids. She arrives at the bus stop 5 minutes later after hugging you goodbye, and she meets some new people. Some eighth graders, wearing all black, and another seventh grade girl, wearing a black hoodie in the middle of summer, with a look in her eyes that says, flat out, “Don't bother me, because I'm tougher than you are.” Your daughter is shocked, but she likes it.By the end of this year, your little princess is dressed in all black, her old friends are all gone, and she carries a purse covered in safety pins, holding a pack of Marlboro Reds, a cell phone, and black lipstick. Her hair is dyed black, and her face is pale with all her makeup. She walks out the door every morning much later than she should, without so much as a word to you. She's got that same smirk like that hardcore girl, who has become her best friend, and a boyfriend that you do not approve of in the slightest. You think to yourself, day after day, “How did this happen? How did she change so much? What happened to my little girl?” Middle school changes everyone, some more drastic than others. From my own personal experience, I can tell you exactly what happened. Westridge Middle School is in a very nice area of Johnson County, Kansas, which is known to be one of the nicest areas in the United States. It is a nice, clean school, with wonderful teachers who care a lot about their students. However, every rose has its thorns: Like all schools, there are the kids that choose to break the rules, and the law.Not only do hormones effect the way these middle-school-age teens think and react, but their entire mental state changes. At Westridge, many elementary schools came together, and “good kids” meet their own kind, while the “bad kids” attract their own kind, too, and often other kids that used to be straight A students that never did anything wrong. Drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, and shoplifting are common among “the hardcore kids,” and a lot of parents don't even know what's going on. Because some teens of this age group can't keep their hormones under control, sex is also common. I personally know at least five girls that first came to this school as virgins and left after eighth grade with slutty reputations. Fights are at least a weekly occurrence in this school and many others in the area. The most common drugs among teens in this age and area are marijuana, alcohol, Dextromethorphan, amphetamines, and inhalants. Marijuana, as most people know, is a smoked plant also known as “weed” or “pot,” which constricts blood flow to the brain, producing a feeling similar to that of alcohol. A lot of teens smoke pot to relax and be considered “cool” by their peers. Dextromethorphan is a chemical in a lot of cough medicines, such as Robitussin and Dayquil. People drink a bottle of Robitussin or take anywhere from 8-20 Dayquil, or pills of similar varieties, and it gives a feeling which can't be described to anyone who's never felt it, but it is highly dangerous, and most stores keep this medicine behind the counter now. Amphetamines, also known as speed, are drugs that speed up your heart rate and give you an energy buzz, which can last several days. Adderal and Concerta, two prescription ADHD medications which contain stimulant ingredients, are often sold and abused by teens in this age group. Lastly, inhalants, such as nitrous oxide, found in canned air, are extremely dangerous. Most inhalant users don't know that it could kill you instantly. Is it the school's fault? Is it the teachers' fault? Certainly not. Westridge is like every other middle school in the aspect of the kids and their choices. Just because it's in a good area does not mean that kids won't be doing drugs, having sex, or smoking. Of course, not all students in middle school are druggies, and not all of them have had sex, but in this day and age, even the kids that appear to be perfect little angels are doing inappropriate, or even illegal, things behind their parents' backs. Every school has rules, as does Westridge. The teachers to a wonderful job of keeping kids quiet in their seats during class, but what goes on in the halls is known only to those who are participating in it.It's really frightening to think about what goes on at schools like Westridge, but the statistics are getting smaller and smaller, the rates for drug abuse and teen pregnancies are dropping, and if everyone would make a little bit more effort, these problems would disappear completely.

A burglar with an apparent appetite broke into a New Jersey sushi restaurant on Saturday, and made some time to cook up some rice and chicken before fleeing, police said. The thief got so caught up in satisfying his hunger, he didn't even touch the $200 sitting in the register.
According to Bergen County police, the modern-day chicken rustler pulled a bird out of the freezer in the Matsu Sushi Grill in Hillsdale and cooked it with rice in a frying pan.
Detectives say the thief entered through an exhaust fan in the back wall of the restaurant, cooked, and left the dirty dishes in the sink as well as the money in the register.
Police suspect that the person may have been homeless and in search of food. The break-in is similar to an incident last year at a local Kentucky Fried Chicken, when someone broke into the fast food restaurant, prepared a meal and left.
Maria Bartiromo never liked being called the “Money Honey,” but back in 2007 she decided to embrace the nickname and attempted to trademark it for a host of products, including “toy action figures, card games, jigsaw puzzles and toy cash registers.” But if you've recently been in the “Young Financial Wizards” aisle at Toys”R”Us, you may have noticed that none of these products were there. That's because Bartiromo has dropped her attempts to trademark her nickname without explanation. Now Erin Burnett can be the first with her name on a toy cash register!
Touch Screen Cash Register
Like a television, computer, or any other electronic device, an iPod Touch screen can become dirtied with dust, fingerprints, grime, and oil from the skin. Actually it can become even dirtier than other items since it is a hands-on device. An iPod Touch is also an expensive device, and proper care must be taken to keep it working properly and looking like new. Instead of taking a chance trying to clean the screen of an iPod Touch with fluids and cloths that might not be safe, consider the following information. It is important to clean an iPod Touch screen carefully, and this is the best way to clean it.
Precautionary Statement
It is always best to follow manufacturer instructions when attempting to clean anything especially sensitive electrical items such as an iPod Touch. Use commonsense, and avoid spraying liquids of any kind on the speakers and connector dock.
Necessary Supplies
To clean an iPod Touch screen you will need a soft cloth that will not leave behind lint such as an eyeglass cloth or a microfiber cloth that has not been wash with anything else but that type of cloth and dried in a dryer with fabric softener. Other fabrics will deposit lint on the cloths. Fabric softener will cause a smeary residue. Even though the surface is supposed to be scratch resistant, it can become scratched if inferior cloths are used to clean the screen.
Also required in preparation to clean an iPod Touch screen is ammonia-free cleaning solution. It can be found in the electronics section of stores that sell items requiring a special cleaning products. It can also be purchased online. My favorite product is iKlear, and it is currently available with an antibacterial cloth and travel wipes. It works to clean, polish, and protect the iPod Touch screen.
Procedure
Begin by reading the complete directions on any product used to clean an iPod Touch. Follow all warnings and precautions, and lightly spray the iPod Touch screen. A small amount is all that is necessary to remove smudges, fingerprints, and grime. A little goes a long way. Use the soft cloth to gently wipe and clean the screen, and follow up by drying the screen with a clean dry section of the same cloth. The iPod Touch screen should turn out clear and looking like new.
